Since My Wife Got Pregnant, Our Intimacy Has Disappeared

I would like to understand whether pregnancy can cause a woman to completely lose interest in intimacy with her husband. My wife is currently pregnant with our first child and is four months along. Since the beginning of her pregnancy, our intimate life has changed significantly, and I am struggling to understand what is happening. We have been intimate only a few times since she became pregnant. Whenever I attempt to initiate physical affection, she tends to withdraw. She previously enjoyed kissing, cuddling, and general closeness, but now she often avoids even simple gestures such as hugging or kissing. On the rare occasions we do have s*x, she appears disengaged and unresponsive, which leaves me feeling rejected and unwanted. I have tried discussing this with her on several occasions, but there has been no noticeable change. She has even suggested that I masturbate instead, although I have explained that I do not want that to become our long-term solution. To be fair, her interest in s*x was not very strong even before pregnancy, but it has become significantly more pronounced since. Recently, she mentioned that, as Muslims, I could consider taking a second wife if I wished. However, I do not want another partner, nor do I want to be unfaithful. I am 27 years old with a relatively high s*x drive, and I am beginning to wonder whether we may be s*xually incompatible, or whether this could be a normal effect of pregnancy. Has anyone experienced something similar? Is this a common occurrence during pregnancy, or could there be an underlying issue?

My Husband Said He Was at a Wedding While I Was in Labor. The Truth Changed Everything.

The day I went into labor was one of the most frightening days of my life. It wasn’t a normal delivery. There were complications, and I was terrified. More than anything, I needed my husband beside me. But when I called him, he told me he was attending a close friend’s wedding and couldn’t leave immediately. I felt hurt, but I tried to understand. People make commitments, I told myself. Maybe he would come as soon as he could. Hours later, after giving birth to our beautiful daughter, I decided to call the groom to congratulate him and casually mention that my husband had missed most of the ceremony because of my labor. There was a long silence. Then he said, “What are you talking about? He never showed up.” My heart sank. I tried calling my husband. His phone was switched off. Exhausted from labor and emotionally drained, I eventually fell asleep. Around 3 a.m., a nurse suddenly rushed into my room. “You need to see this,” she said, holding my phone. There were 27 missed calls from the same number. The nurse explained that someone had been calling every couple of minutes for hours. Concerned, she finally answered the call herself. “He’s downstairs,” she said. For a moment, I thought it was my husband. It wasn’t. It was my father-in-law. When he walked into the room, I could see he had driven straight from work. He was still wearing his work clothes. His hands were shaking from exhaustion, and in one hand he carried a small pink blanket he had bought at a shopping mall during the four-hour drive to the hospital. He sat beside my bed and quietly explained what had happened. “My son told me he was here with you,” he said. “When I called the hospital to ask how things were going, they told me you had been alone the entire time.” His voice broke. “I got in my car immediately.” He didn’t ask questions. He didn’t make excuses for his son. He didn’t yell or create a scene. Instead, he sat beside me through the night. He held my daughter before his own son ever did. At one point, he looked at me with tears in his eyes and whispered, “No woman should have to go through this alone. I’m so sorry.” That simple sentence meant more to me than he will ever know. To this day, I never discovered where my husband really was that night. A year later, our marriage ended in divorce. But something unexpected happened. My father-in-law never left. He showed up for every birthday party, every school play, every Sunday visit, every important moment in my daughter’s life. While his son walked away from the responsibilities of being a husband, this man stepped forward and chose to be present. My daughter calls him “Papa.” And honestly, he has earned that title. He reminds me that sometimes the people who share our blood disappoint us the most, while others choose to love us simply because it is the right thing to do. My marriage may have ended, but my faith in human kindness survived because of one man who drove four hours in the middle of the night to make sure a frightened woman and her newborn baby were not alone. Sometimes family isn't defined by who should be there. It's defined by who actually shows up.

Must I Marry Him Because My Pastor Said God Approved?

My pastor called me to his office after Sunday service and told me that a man in the church has expressed interest in marrying me. He said the man is God fearing, very dedicated, and serves in the choir. He also said he has prayed about it and feels a strong confirmation from God that this is the right man for me. He advised me to pray, seek God's face, and give the man a chance. The problem is that I know this man. He is my friend, in fact, the closest friend I have in that church. He has been telling me for some time that he likes me, but I have been avoiding the conversation because I do not feel the same way. I feel nothing when I see him. nothing. Sometimes, when he calls, I do not even feel like answering. I have tried to force myself to see him in a different light, but my heart is not cooperating. Now I am confused because my pastor, a man of God whom I respect, is telling me this is from God. He says attraction is not everything and that love grows with time. But I am a woman who dreams of a husband I will truly love, a man whose touch will make me feel alive. Is it wrong to want that? I have been praying to God for a husband, but I have been praying for a man I will love, not just a man I will tolerate. Now my pastor is telling me to pray about this specific man. Honestly, I do not want to be disrespectful to him because I know he means well, but I also do not want to enter a marriage where I will be unhappy. What kind of life would that be? I am thinking of going back to my pastor and telling him the truth that I do not love this man and I cannot force those feelings. But I am also afraid. What if he sees it as disrespect? Please, how do I gather the courage to speak to my pastor tomorrow, and how do I say it without sounding harsh?.🙏

My Husband No Longer Fights for My Attention—Should I Be Worried?

I need some honest advice. I've been with my husband for over four years. We're traditionally married, but we haven't had our white wedding yet. During the early years of our relationship, he couldn't get enough of me. He was always affectionate, constantly wanting to cuddle, kiss me, and be close to me. Even after an argument, he would still make sure I felt loved. However, ever since he started his new job, things have changed. He rarely initiates intimacy anymore. What bothers me the most is that whenever he tries to be intimate and I say, "Not tonight," he simply turns over and goes to sleep without saying another word. He doesn't try to persuade me, joke about it, or playfully tease me the way he used to. This has been happening for over two months now, and it's starting to make me wonder if something has changed. I don't know if it's work-related stress, if he's losing interest in me, or if I'm just overthinking the situation. Has anyone experienced something similar, especially married couples? I'd really appreciate hearing your thoughts. What do you think could be going on?

At 21, I Lost My Marriage and Became a Single Mother.

The woman who sent this story asked to remain completely anonymous. She says she has kept this pain to herself for months, but now wants people to hear her story. I got married at 20. By the time my husband came for my introduction and traditional marriage, I was already heavily pregnant. People talked, but I ignored them because I believed I was marrying the man who would stand by me for life. A few months later, I gave birth to our son through a cesarean section. The surgery was difficult, and recovery was worse. I was constantly in pain and still trying to adjust to being a first-time mother. Barely four months after delivery, my husband started demanding for intimacy. I begged him to be patient because I was still healing, but he wouldn't stop asking. Eventually, I gave in just to avoid the constant pressure. A few weeks later, I discovered I was pregnant again. I was terrified. My son wasn't even six months old, and I knew my body hadn't recovered from the first pregnancy. When I told my husband, he agreed that I shouldn't continue with it. He even promised to give me money to terminate the pregnancy. But everything changed after he informed his mother. Suddenly, my husband, his mother and his younger sister all turned against me. They called me wicked and selfish for wanting to end the pregnancy. Nobody cared that I was the one whose life was at risk. Afraid they would force me to keep it, I borrowed money from a friend and secretly terminated the pregnancy. The day I told my husband, my marriage changed forever. His mother and younger sister practically moved into our house. I lost my peace, my privacy, and even control over my own kitchen. Every day came with insults, accusations and emotional torment. I cried almost every night while carrying my little baby. Two months later, my mother-in-law and I had an argument. I raised my voice but never insulted her. She and her daughter confronted me, and in the struggle, her daughter got hurt while I defended myself. That incident became the end of my marriage. They reported me to my husband's village, accusing me of beating my mother-in-law. Nobody cared to hear my side. When I called my family, hoping they would take me in, they refused. They said leaving my husband's house after just one year of marriage would bring shame to the family. Broken and confused, I went to my father's house for three days. When I returned, all my belongings had been packed outside. My mother-in-law and her daughter told me to leave with my son. They called me an ogbanje and accused me of being the reason their son wasn't progressing in life. The most painful part was that my husband watched everything happen without saying a single word. With nowhere else to go, I carried my baby and moved into a friend's house. I was just 21 years old. Only a year earlier, people had danced at my wedding. Now I was a homeless single mother, trying to rebuild my life from nothing. Today, my husband says I can only return if I apologise to his mother and younger sister and travel to their village to perform traditional rites for allegedly beating his mother. Sometimes I wonder if I ever truly had a husband, or if I was simply married into a family that never accepted me. If this woman were your sister or daughter, would you advise her to apologise and return for the sake of her child, or tell her to move on and never look back?

Can a Man Who Never Defended His Wife Ever Change?

I already have a little daughter. When she was just 7 months old, I made the painful decision to leave my husband because I couldn't take it anymore. Today, my baby is over 2 years old, and since the day I left, he has barely taken responsibility for her. Every expense, every sleepless night, every hospital visit, and every need has been on me. Now, after all this time, he suddenly wants us back. Part of me wants my daughter to grow up with both parents, so I didn't shut the door completely. Instead, I gave him a few conditions that would make me feel safe enough to return. Rather than reassure me, he simply said he would "think about it." That response broke my heart. My husband is the first son in his family, yet he has never been able to stand up for me. He is so afraid of his mother and siblings that they treat me however they like. Imagine being insulted by his own 16-year-old younger brother, right in front of him, and he says absolutely nothing. His sisters disrespect me too, and he always keeps quiet because he doesn't want to offend his family. I endured so much emotional pain in that house that my own family has begged me never to return. They watched me cry, suffer, and slowly lose myself, and they believe nothing has changed. To make things worse, his siblings are still living with him. I told him clearly that I cannot go back to a home where I have no peace or privacy. I don't want to wake up every day feeling like a stranger in my own marriage. The truth is, I don't even know if I still love this man anymore. Maybe I'm just holding on because I want my daughter to have a complete family. Maybe I'm foolishly hoping that one day he will become the husband I prayed for. But what if he never changes? I'm exhausted emotionally. I'm scared of making the same mistake twice, yet I'm also scared of denying my daughter a chance to grow up with both parents.

I Don't Love My Husband Anymore

This is probably the hardest thing I've ever admitted. If my Husband ever reads this, it would completely destroy him. The painful part is... He has done absolutely nothing wrong. We've been married for 10 years. We have two beautiful children. My Husband is faithful. Responsible. Supportive. He stood by me through some of the toughest moments of my life. If you asked my friends or family about our marriage, they'd probably say we're one of the happiest couples they know. But they don't see what goes on inside my head. Somewhere along the line... The feelings disappeared. I don't even know when it happened. There wasn't one big fight. No cheating. No abuse. No betrayal. Life just became... Routine. Wake up. Go to work. Take care of the children. Pay bills. Sleep. Repeat. Sometimes we can sit in the same room for an hour without saying anything meaningful. We talk more about groceries than about ourselves. When He says, "I love you," I still reply... But if I'm being completely honest, it feels like I'm saying the words out of habit. Not because I truly feel them anymore. I've tried to bring the spark back. We've gone on dates. Taken short trips. Spent more time together. For a while, things improve. Then everything goes back to the way it was. What scares me the most is the guilt. Because this person genuinely loves me. I can see it. I can feel it. And here I am... Wondering why I don't feel the same anymore. Sometimes I ask myself if this is just what marriage becomes after many years. Maybe nobody stays "in love" forever. Maybe this is normal. Or maybe I'm lying to myself because I'm too afraid to admit the truth. I haven't cheated. I don't want anyone else. I just feel... Empty. I don't want to destroy my family over feelings that might come back. But I also don't want to spend the rest of my life pretending. Has anyone ever fallen out of love with someone who didn't deserve it? Can love come back? Or am I only delaying the inevitable?

My Husband’s “Business Trips” Weren’t for Work... He Had Another Family

My husband travels a lot for work. At least, that’s what I believed. We’ve been married for eight years and we have two kids together. His job always required him to be away a few days every month, sometimes even longer. I never really questioned it. He would call from hotel rooms, send pictures of airports, and bring little gifts home for me and the kids. He was present when he was home, paid the bills, showed up for birthdays, and acted like a good husband. That’s why I never suspected anything. Then last week, I got a Facebook message from a woman I didn’t know. All she wrote was: “I think we are married to the same man.” At first, I thought it was a scam or some kind of prank. Then she sent pictures. Wedding photos. Pictures of him with two children I had never seen before. Family Christmas photos. Vacation pictures. The same man who kissed me goodbye before his “business trips” was apparently going home to another family in another state. I felt like my body went cold. I asked her how long they had been together. She said they had been married for five years. Five years. That means he married her while he was already married to me. The worst part is, she thought I was the other woman. She said he told her he was divorced and that I was just his “crazy ex-wife” who wouldn’t let go. I haven’t confronted him yet. He’s supposed to come home tomorrow, and I don’t even know how to look at him. Part of me wants to scream. Part of me wants answers. And part of me already knows there is no explanation that can fix this. I keep thinking about all those nights he said he was tired from work. All those missed calls. All those weekends he claimed he had meetings. He wasn’t working. He was living another life. If you were in my position, would you confront him immediately, or would you gather more proof first?

I Opened My Husband's Second Phone... I Wish I Never Did

If somebody had told me a year ago that one phone would completely change my marriage, I would have laughed. My husband and I have been married for six years. We have two children together. Like every marriage, we've had our ups and downs, but I honestly believed we were happy. I trusted this man with my life. One Saturday morning, he was rushing out for a meeting. Just as he entered the car, he shouted from outside, "Babe, abeg help me bring my charger from the glove compartment." I picked up the car key and went outside. I opened the glove compartment but didn't see any charger. As I was about to close it, I noticed another phone tucked inside an old nylon bag. At first, I smiled. I thought maybe it was one of his old phones. I picked it up. To my surprise... It was switched on. I don't know what came over me, but I unlocked it. The password? Our wedding date. My heart skipped. The moment the phone opened, WhatsApp was already displaying a new message. It simply read, "I miss you already. Last night was amazing. ❤️" I froze. I told myself there had to be an explanation. Maybe it was an old message. Maybe someone sent it to the wrong number. I opened the chat. That was my biggest mistake. There were hundreds of messages. Photos. Voice notes. Plans for weekends together. Pet names I had never heard before. The painful part wasn't even that he was cheating. It was that he had created another life. He called her "my wife." She called my children "those kids." She was asking when he would finally leave me. As I kept scrolling, my hands started shaking. Then I saw something that completely broke me. A screenshot of my own Facebook profile. She had sent it to him and wrote, **"Is this the woman you're still living with?"** He replied, "Just be patient. Everything will soon be settled." I couldn't breathe. This wasn't just an affair. This was a future they had already planned without me. I quietly put the phone back where I found it. I didn't confront him. I didn't cry. I just sat in the house pretending everything was normal while my heart was breaking inside. It's been four days now. He has no idea I know. Every morning he kisses me goodbye before leaving for work. Every night he tells me he loves me. And every time I hear those words... I remember what's inside that second phone. I haven't told anyone. Not even my family. Should I confront him? Or should I keep quiet and gather more evidence first?

My Best Friend's Husband Kept Asking Me Out

I honestly don't know what to do anymore, so I'm sharing this here anonymously because it's eating me up inside. I am a woman in my early 30s, and my best friend and I have known each other since secondary school. We sat on the same desk for years, shared lunch, borrowed each other's clothes, and promised that no matter where life took us, we'd always remain sisters. Life happened, but somehow we kept that promise. After secondary school, we went our separate ways for university and work, but our friendship remained strong. We attended each other's birthdays, celebrated promotions, and were there during difficult moments. When she met the man who eventually became her husband, I was one of the first people she introduced him to. At first, he seemed like a decent man. He was polite, respectful, and always joked that he had heard so much about me that he felt like he already knew me. I was genuinely happy for my friend because she had gone through some painful relationships in the past, and this man seemed different. I even helped with some of the preparations for their wedding. On her wedding day, I cried because I was genuinely happy that my friend had found love. Little did I know that things would become so uncomfortable years later. Everything started innocently enough. Whenever I visited their home, he would tease me and say things like, "Your friend doesn't even know how lucky she is to have a beautiful friend like you." I usually laughed it off because I thought he was just being friendly. Then the compliments became more frequent. He started commenting on my appearance every time we met. "You're looking younger every day." "If I had met you before your friend, maybe things would have been different." "How are you still single? Any man would be lucky to have you." I felt uncomfortable, but I convinced myself that I was overthinking things. I didn't want to create problems where there were none. One evening, my friend invited me over for dinner, but she was running late at work. I got there before she arrived, and it was just her husband and me in the sitting room. That was when everything changed. He looked at me and said, "I've been wanting to tell you something for a long time." I laughed nervously and asked what it was. Then he said, "I really like you." I thought he was joking. I told him to stop saying silly things. But he became serious. He said he had always admired me, that he couldn't stop thinking about me, and that if circumstances were different, he would have chosen me. I was shocked. This was my best friend's husband talking. I immediately stood up and told him that the conversation was inappropriate. He apologized and said he didn't mean to make me uncomfortable. I let it go because I didn't want drama. Unfortunately, that was only the beginning. A few days later, he sent me a message. "Please don't misunderstand me. I just needed to express how I feel." I ignored it. Then another message came. "I can't stop thinking about you." I still didn't reply. Over the next few weeks, the messages continued. He started calling me occasionally, asking how I was doing and trying to start conversations unrelated to my friend. I became uncomfortable and began avoiding their house. Then one night, he sent a message that completely shook me. "I know this is wrong, but I think I've fallen in love with you." I couldn't believe what I was reading. I immediately told him that he was crossing boundaries and that I respected my friendship with his wife too much to entertain such conversations. Instead of stopping, he begged me. He said, "Please don't tell her. It would destroy my marriage. I promise I'll control myself." I didn't know what to say. I simply blocked his number. A week later, he reached out through another number. He apologized repeatedly and begged me not to tell his wife. He said it was just a moment of weakness. But if it was truly a moment of weakness, why did he keep finding ways to contact me? The worst part is that my friend still trusts me completely. She calls me almost every day. She tells me how grateful she is to have a friend like me. Sometimes she even jokes that if anything ever happened to her, I would be the person she'd trust most with her family. Every time she says things like that, I feel a knot in my stomach. I haven't done anything wrong, but I feel guilty carrying this secret. I have tried creating distance. I no longer visit their house unless absolutely necessary. I avoid answering his messages. I blocked every number he used to contact me. Yet he somehow keeps finding ways to apologize and beg me not to expose him. Part of me feels that my friend deserves to know the truth because if the situation were reversed, I would want my friend to tell me. Another part of me is afraid. What if she thinks I'm lying? What if she believes I encouraged him? What if this destroys our friendship forever? I also worry about their marriage.

I Married Him Because He Was Rich... Five Years Later, I Regret Everything

When I was 24, I had two men in my life. One genuinely loved me, The other had everything money could buy. A mansion, Luxury cars, Businesses, Vacations abroad. The kind of life I had only seen on Instagram. Everyone around me told me I would be a fool to choose love over security. My parents adored him. My friends envied me. Even strangers called me lucky. So I broke the heart of the man who truly loved me... ...and married the wealthy one. At first, it felt like I had won in life. I no longer worried about rent. I could buy whatever I wanted. We traveled often. People admired our marriage from the outside. But behind those beautiful photos... I was lonely. My husband believed providing money was enough. He rarely spent time with me. Every conversation felt like a business meeting. If I complained, he'd simply transfer money into my account. When I cried, he'd ask, "What else do you want? Don't you have everything?" I realized I had mistaken comfort for happiness. The expensive gifts slowly became replacements for affection. Today, we've been married for five years. I have everything I once prayed for......except peace. Sometimes I secretly wonder what my life would have been like if I had chosen the man who truly loved me instead. I don't even know where he is now. Maybe he's happily married. Maybe he hates me. Maybe he has completely forgotten I ever existed. I know many people will judge me for saying this. After all, there are women praying for the life I have. But I also know money cannot hug you when you're crying. It cannot make someone love you. If you could go back and choose again... Would you still marry for money? Or would you choose love?

Three Months Into Marriage, I Became His Housemaid

I honestly don't know what happened to the man I married. During our dating and courtship, he was the kind of man who made me believe marriage would be a partnership. If I was cooking, he would wash the plates. If I was cleaning, he would help me arrange the room. Sometimes, he would even notice that I was tired and tell me to rest while he handled some of the chores. That was one of the things I loved about him. So when we got married, I naturally believed nothing would change. Unfortunately, three months into our marriage, everything changed. Suddenly, the man who once helped me with house chores started behaving as though touching anything in the house was beneath him. He would wake up, eat, use whatever he needed, and leave everything for me. I work at a bank as a cashier, and my job is mentally and physically exhausting. There are days I spend hours attending to customers, counting money, balancing accounts and dealing with the pressure that comes with handling people's transactions. By the time I close from work, all I want is a shower, food and somewhere comfortable to rest. But most times, I come home and meet another shift waiting for me. Dirty plates. Unwashed clothes. A messy kitchen. Dust everywhere. Sometimes the bathroom needs cleaning too. And the person who has been home for most of the day is sitting comfortably, waiting for me to come and start doing everything. There have been days I've entered the house after a particularly stressful day at work and just stood at the doorway looking at the mess. I would feel tears gathering in my eyes because I couldn't understand how I had gone from being his partner to becoming the person responsible for keeping the entire house running. The worst part is that he knows how tired I am. I've spoken to him about it countless times. We've argued about it more times than I can remember. I've explained that I don't mind doing my share of the chores, but I cannot carry everything alone while also working a demanding job. His response is usually that housework is part of a wife's responsibility. I once suggested that we get a maid to help with the heavy chores since we can afford it, especially because his job allows him to stay at home more often than I do. He refused. According to him, there is no need for a maid because "a wife should be able to take care of her home." That statement broke something inside me. Because before we got married, apparently I was a woman he could support. After marriage, I became a wife who was expected to serve him. Sometimes I deliberately remember the man he used to be during our courtship. The man who would pick up a broom without being asked. The man who would wash plates beside me while we talked and laughed. I keep asking myself where that man went. I'm beginning to dread coming home from work because I already know what awaits me. Yesterday, I came home completely exhausted. I had spent almost the entire day on my feet at the bank. My head was pounding, my back hurt, and I hadn't even eaten properly. I opened the door and saw dirty plates in the kitchen and clothes scattered around the house. My husband was at home. He looked at me and simply said, "You're back." Something inside me snapped. I didn't shout. I didn't insult him. I just went into the bedroom, sat on the edge of the bed and started crying. I cried because I wasn't crying over dirty plates. I was crying because I felt alone in a marriage that was supposed to give me companionship. I don't want a husband who occasionally helps me so I can call him a good man. I want a partner who understands that we are both building this home together. I'm scared that if I continue like this, resentment will eventually replace the love I have for him. And honestly, I don't know how much longer I can keep pretending that I'm okay.

I Found a Strange Cream in My Husband’s Bag… Am I Being Paranoid?

I never thought I would become suspicious of my husband over something so small, but what I found recently has left me with questions I cannot easily push away. A few days ago, while looking for something inside one of my husband’s bags, I came across a small tube of penis enhancement cream carefully tucked away among his belongings. At first, I thought I had picked up the wrong thing, so I checked again. There it was, hidden beneath some of his personal items. I waited until he came home before asking him about it. I tried to remain calm because I didn't want the conversation to turn into an argument. I simply held up the cream and asked him what it was doing in his bag. For a few seconds, he looked uncomfortable. Then he told me, “It isn't mine. A friend gave it to me, and I'm only keeping it for him.” His explanation caught me completely off guard. I asked why his friend would give him something so personal to keep, especially when he could have kept it himself. My husband said his friend didn't want his wife to find it, so he had asked him to keep it temporarily. According to him, there was absolutely nothing suspicious about it. But the more I thought about his explanation, the more questions started running through my mind. Why was it hidden so carefully inside his bag? Why didn't he ever mention that he was keeping something for his friend? And if his friend was genuinely afraid of his wife finding it, why would he trust my husband with it in the first place? My husband became irritated when I continued asking questions. He told me I was reading too much meaning into something innocent and that I should trust him. I eventually stopped arguing, but deep down, I wasn't satisfied. I don't want to accuse him of cheating or jump to conclusions without evidence. At the same time, I cannot pretend that finding that cream in his bag hasn't changed the way I look at things. For now, I've decided to stay calm and observe rather than create a bigger problem based on assumptions. Maybe his explanation is completely genuine, or maybe there is another part of the story he hasn't told me yet. But one thing is certain: that little tube has left a very big question in my mind. Is my suspicion justified?

MY FRIEND’S HUSBAND ASKED ME A QUESTION I REFUSED TO ANSWER — NOW HE SAYS I’M DESTROYING THEIR MARRIAGE

My friend’s husband called me last month, and I still don’t know if I handled it right. When I saw his name, I feared something had happened to her, so I picked up. “Hello, is everything okay?” I asked. He paused, then said, “I want to ask you something.” It made me uneasy. “My wife has been unhappy for months. She talks to you. I know she trusts you.” I stayed quiet. Then he asked, “Has she ever said she wants to leave me?” I froze. She had complained about their marriage, but she had never said she wanted to leave. I didn’t feel right sharing private conversations, so I said, “You should talk to your wife directly.” He didn’t like that. “So she has told you something?” I clarified I wouldn’t repeat private things. He got angry and insisted I tell him everything. Then he said, “You women always protect each other.” I ended the call. The next day, my friend called crying. “What did you tell my husband?” I was confused until she explained. He had gone through her phone, read our messages, and now believed I was influencing her against him. He accused me of hiding things and trying to ruin their marriage. She kept saying, “I never told you I wanted to leave him.” I told her I knew. He was now questioning her about me and our conversations. I didn’t know what to say. I felt torn. Maybe I should have been more open, but I also believe I shouldn’t repeat private conversations between friends and their spouses. Still, I understand his suspicion. He felt left out of his own marriage. But I don’t think I should be the messenger between them. If she wants to leave or stay, she should say it herself. Now my friendship is strained. He doesn’t trust me, and she’s afraid to talk to me. She may stop sharing her marriage problems with me, which hurts, but I never meant to cause harm. It has made me question how far friends should get involved in marriages. Should we listen and advise, or step back completely? I’ve decided to be more careful. I can listen and encourage communication, but I won’t carry messages between spouses. Because it is their marriage, not mine. Still, I keep asking myself: did I do the right thing by staying silent, or should I have been more transparent? What would you have done?

After Our Baby Came, My Husband Stopped Loving M”

I have been married to my husband for a few years, and there was a time when I genuinely believed I had married the man of my dreams. He was affectionate, attentive and always made me feel wanted. Before we had our child, he couldn't stand being away from me for too long. He would call just to hear my voice, look for excuses to spend time with me and make me feel like I was the most important woman in his life. When I became pregnant, I thought our love would become even stronger. Surprisingly, he became more protective and caring. He was always checking on me, making sure I was comfortable and talking excitedly about the kind of parents we would become. I entered motherhood believing that having a baby would bring us closer than ever. But I was wrong. Our child is now over a year old, and I sometimes struggle to recognize the man I married. Nothing dramatic happened between us. He didn't wake up one morning and announce that he no longer loved me. It happened gradually. First, the long conversations stopped. Then the affection became less frequent. The hugs, kisses and little romantic gestures that used to come naturally to him became rare. Even when we were together in the same room, he often seemed mentally somewhere else. We still sleep in the same room. We still eat together. We still take care of our responsibilities as husband and wife and parents. From the outside, everything probably looks perfectly normal. But inside the marriage, I feel incredibly lonely. The hardest part is that I have tried to understand what changed. I have asked him several times if something is wrong. Sometimes he says he is tired. Other times he blames work, responsibilities or the stress of raising a child. I understand that becoming parents comes with pressure, but I can't help wondering why the love between us seems to have disappeared along with our old lifestyle. There are nights when I lie beside him and remember how he used to pull me close before we had our baby. I remember how he used to look at me and make me feel beautiful without me asking. Now, I sometimes lie awake beside him wondering whether he still sees me as his wife or whether he only sees me as the mother of his child. And that thought scares me. I have even caught myself wondering if motherhood changed the way he sees me. Maybe my body changed. Maybe I became too focused on the baby. Maybe the sleepless nights and responsibilities slowly took away the woman he used to know. I have started questioning myself in ways I never did before. I don't want to accuse him of cheating because I have no proof. I don't want to create problems based on assumptions. What hurts me is simply the silence. If something has changed in his heart, I wish he would tell me. I have tried talking to him calmly. I have tried giving him space. I have tried becoming more affectionate and making an effort to bring back the closeness we once had. But sometimes it feels like I am the only one fighting to save something that both of us used to treasure. I love my husband, and I love the family we have created. But I am beginning to understand that being married to someone and feeling loved by that person are two completely different things. Right now, I don't want sympathy. I don't want people to immediately tell me that he is cheating or that I should leave my marriage. I just want to understand something that has been disturbing me for months: How can a man love, desire and cherish his wife so deeply before having a child, then become emotionally distant after the baby arrives without ever explaining what changed?

I Married an Amazing Father, But Not the Right Husband

I have been married for twelve years, and I have finally come to accept a painful truth: I chose the ideal father for my children, but not the right husband for myself. When we first met, he seemed to embody everything a woman could hope for. He was hardworking, responsible, respectful, and deeply committed to family. I believed I had found a man who would help build a happy home with me. In many respects, I was not mistaken. He has been an outstanding father. He has never neglected his responsibilities. He works tirelessly to provide for our children, pays their school fees without complaint, protects them, supports them, and makes countless sacrifices to ensure they have a better future. Our children adore him, and rightly so. However, somewhere along the way, I realized that while he devoted himself entirely to fatherhood, he gradually ceased to be my husband. He knows every detail of our children’s lives but barely notices mine. He never misses a school meeting, yet he forgets my birthday. He can spend hours laughing and talking with the children, but meaningful conversation with me feels like an obligation. Whenever I try to express how lonely I feel, he simply reminds me that the children come first. I agree that our children should always be a priority. But does that mean a wife should become invisible? I do not need expensive gifts or grand gestures. I long for simple things: affection, meaningful conversation, emotional connection, and the reassurance that I am still loved. I want to feel like more than the mother of his children. Our marriage has become painfully empty. We have not shared any intimacy in ten months. At some point, I stopped asking for the love that should never have to be begged for. Today, I do not hate him, and I do not resent him. In fact, I will always be grateful for the father he has been to our children. They could not have asked for anyone better. But I have finally accepted that being an exceptional father does not automatically make someone an exceptional husband. Sometimes, a person can succeed admirably in one role while quietly failing in another. So now I am left wondering... Can a marriage truly survive when two people remain great parents but stop being partners?

My Younger Brother Cancelled His Wedding... Just 24 Hours Before the Ceremony

When my younger brother announced that he had found the woman he wanted to marry, nobody questioned his decision. They met during a church evangelism outreach. They shared the same faith, the same values, and the same dream of serving God. He even hoped to become a pastor someday, so he believed he had finally found the woman God had prepared for him. They courted for years without being s*xually involved. Everyone admired their discipline. Then reality struck. The lady came from a tribe that had a long-standing cultural feud with ours. Her parents refused to bless the relationship. They didn't care about love, prayers, or church leaders. Their answer was simply: "Never." My brother was heartbroken. After months of trying everything, he gave up and moved on with his life. Then, almost a year later, something happened that felt like a miracle. The lady suddenly came back. "My parents have agreed," she told him. It sounded like God had answered every prayer. Wedding preparations began almost immediately. But looking back now... that was when the warning signs started. Although her family accepted the bride price, her father refused to attend the wedding. He demanded extra settlements for extended family members and made it obvious that he wasn't happy. Everyone assumed he would eventually soften. He never did. A few months later, church leaders advised the couple to complete a court wedding before the church ceremony. They did. What my brother didn't know was that just before signing those papers, her parents had secretly given their daughter an ultimatum. "Go ahead and marry him if you want... but from today, don't ever return to this family. Not even when we d*e." She kept those words to herself. She never told my brother. From the moment they became legally married, everything changed. The cheerful woman he knew seemed to disappear overnight. She became cold. Arguments became frequent. Respect vanished. Every disagreement ended the same way. "I sacrificed my family because of you." Sometimes she would add something even more frightening. "If this continues, I may end up agreeing with my parents." My brother was confused. He sought help from church leaders. They organised counselling sessions. Nothing changed. Instead, things became worse. Then, just days before the church wedding, another bombshell dropped. The bride's mother announced she would not attend because she had nothing to present to her daughter. For the first time, my brother stopped thinking about the wedding and started thinking about the marriage. He realised something terrifying. They were already legally married yet they were living like enemies. If things had fallen apart before saying wedding vows in church, what would the next 30 years look like? That night, he made the hardest decision of his life. The next morning—just one day before the ceremony—he called my mother. She was in the market buying food for hundreds of guests. His voice was calm. "Mummy... I'm not getting married tomorrow." She thought he was joking. He wasn't. invitations had already been sent. Family members were travelling. Money had been spent. Everything was ready. The wedding was cancelled. Only afterwards did my parents discover that most of the counselling, meetings, and major decisions had been handled by church leaders without properly involving them. When they finally explained everything to my father, his response shocked everyone. He simply said: "If my son believes this marriage is wrong, then I stand with him." Many people criticised my brother. Some called him irresponsible. Others said he embarrassed the church. He was eventually suspended from church activities. The relationship collapsed completely. The bride reportedly vowed to make life difficult for him, even in front of my parents. But the biggest twist came after everything ended. Despite months of wedding preparations... Despite guests already preparing to celebrate... Despite being called husband and wife... The marriage was never consummated. Today, my brother is preparing to legally dissolve a court marriage that existed only on paper. Sometimes people ask whether cancelling a wedding one day before the ceremony is cruel. After seeing everything that happened... I honestly believe cancelling it was far less painful than spending decades trapped in the wrong marriage.

BEFORE YOU SAY "I DO," READ THIS.

One of the most common mistakes people make before marriage is believing this one sentence: "They will change after we get married." That assumption has caused more heartbreak than many are willing to acknowledge. The truth is: Marriage does not change character. It reveals it. The small issues you overlook today often become the very reasons people struggle tomorrow. That disrespect you dismiss as "temper"? It may become daily humiliation. Those lies you excuse because "nobody is perfect"? They may become the lies that destroy your peace and your family. That uncontrolled anger you justify because "they were just upset"? It may become the fear that fills your home. The selfishness you describe as "a bad day"? It may become the loneliness you live with for years. Too many people are not in love with the person they are dating. They are in love with the version of that person they have created in their imagination. They keep saying: "When we marry, they'll become more responsible." "A child will change them." "Love will change them." "Prayer will change them." "Time will change them." Sometimes... it does not. And by the time reality sets in, leaving is no longer as simple as walking away from a relationship. There are children. There are families. There are emotional scars. There are years you can never recover. Marriage is not a rehabilitation center. A wedding ring cannot create maturity. A marriage certificate cannot create honesty. A beautiful wedding cannot produce respect. An expensive reception cannot turn a selfish person into a loving partner. Character is formed long before the wedding day. So before you say "I do," look beyond the butterflies. Look beyond the expensive dates. Look beyond the sweet words. Ask yourself the difficult questions. How do they treat people who cannot benefit them? How do they respond when they are angry? Can they apologize sincerely? Can they control their emotions? Can they be trusted when no one is watching? How do they handle money? How do they respond when they do not get their way? Do they respect your boundaries? Do they bring you peace... or constant anxiety? Because chemistry can make your heart race. But character determines whether your heart will have peace. Love is beautiful. But love without wisdom can become a lifetime of regret. Do not ignore red flags because you are afraid of starting over. Do not confuse potential with reality. Do not marry promises. Marry proven character. Because the habits you excuse while dating are often the same habits that leave people praying for an escape after marriage. Your heart deserves more than temporary happiness. Your future children deserve a healthy home. Your peace is worth protecting. Choose carefully. Choose wisely. Because the person you marry will shape your everyday life far more than the wedding day ever will.

My Husbands Wears Ankara Boxers

Eucarl, please I need advise. I got married to my husband in 2022, he is a nice man but some things he has refused to drop is turning me off. The most embarrassing now is he prefers Ankara boxers.

Do You Think I Can Ever Get Married?

Hello Eucarl, I am 43 years old and sometimes I wonder if marriage is still possible for me. I don't have biological children, but I adopted a beautiful little girl who is now 6 years old. She has brought so much joy into my life, but I still dream of having a loving partner to share life with. I've tried dating over the years. I prefer men my age or older, but finding a serious relationship hasn't been easy. The younger men I've met usually don't want commitment, and some only seem interested in taking advantage of me. My sisters say I think too much and that's why relationships don't work out for me. Maybe they're right, maybe they're not. But I've been through enough to recognize when someone isn't genuine. There's something else I've never really talked about. I'm a breast cancer survivor. The experience changed my body, and one of my breasts is incomplete. Whenever a relationship starts getting serious and a man discovers this, things often change. Some pull away completely. I won't lie, that hurts. Sometimes I worry that I'll never experience what it's like to be a wife. I see my siblings with their spouses and families, and although I'm happy for them, there are moments when I feel left behind. Because of that, I sometimes keep my distance. Not because I don't love them, but because I don't want my sadness or envy to affect our relationship. I'm not desperate for marriage. I'm simply scared that time is passing and that it may never happen for me. I know life isn't only about marriage, and I am grateful to be alive after everything I've been through. But some days, the loneliness is difficult to ignore. I'm not looking for sympathy or romance from anyone here. What I really want is advice. How do I find peace, happiness, and emotional strength while dealing with these feelings? And honestly, do you think it's too late for me to find love and get married? I will be reading the comments. Thank you.

My Experience in a Toxic Marriage: How I Left to Save Myself

I felt trapped and suffocated in my marriage. My partner was controlling, emotionally abusive, and made me feel like I was walking on eggshells every day. He would criticize me constantly, making me feel worthless and belittling my accomplishments. I lost my sense of self and felt like I was living a life that wasn’t mine. I was isolated from friends and family, and my partner would get angry if I tried to reach out to them. I felt like I was living in a prison, with no escape. The worst part was the emotional manipulation. My partner would make me feel guilty for things that weren’t my fault, and I started to doubt my own sanity. I felt like I was losing myself, and I didn’t know how to escape. It took a lot of courage, but I finally found the strength to leave the marriage. It was a difficult and painful process, but I’m now in a place of healing and recovery. I’ve learned to love myself again and to recognize the signs of toxic behavior. I’m grateful to be free from that terrible marriage and to be living a life that is truly mine.

My Parents May Be Against My Marriage

Hello everyone, I need your honest advice. I am 28 years old and currently facing a difficult decision. I belong to a church that does not permit its members to marry people outside the church. Over the years, I've had relationships with people from my church who claimed to love me, but those experiences left me hurt and disappointed. Now, I am dating a man who treats me with love, respect, and kindness. The problem is that he is not a member of my church. For the first time in a long time, I feel genuinely happy and hopeful about my future. However, I'm terrified of how my parents will react if they find out I intend to marry him. The pressure is also increasing because I'm getting older. At 28, I worry about delaying marriage and starting a family. Sometimes, I even find myself thinking about getting pregnant just to force the situation, although I'm not sure that would be the right thing to do. I feel torn between following my heart and keeping peace with my family and church community. Has anyone ever been in a similar situation? Should I stand by the person I love, even if it means facing opposition from my parents and church? And how can I handle this without creating bigger problems for myself and everyone involved? I will be reading the comments. Thank you.

Thinking About Divorcing My Husband

I need advice because I feel like I've reached my breaking point. When I married my husband, I loved him deeply. I genuinely believed we would grow old together. Over the years, there have been several things that hurt me, but I kept overlooking them because I loved him. One of them was his habit of getting too comfortable with other women. He would do things I considered inappropriate and dismiss my concerns by saying they meant nothing. Then one day, I discovered he was still chatting with some of his exes and telling them he was still attracted to them. That broke my heart, but I stayed. The most painful incident happened recently. I found out he had become very close to a particular woman online. They spent hours chatting, using romantic words and discussing things I believe a husband should be discussing with his wife. When I confronted the woman, hoping she would back off, my husband did the opposite. He messaged her and told her to ignore me. That hurt more than anything. As if that wasn't enough, he told me he enjoys talking to her because whenever he discusses things with me, he doesn't achieve his plans. He even said I have been bad luck to him since our marriage. Those words shattered me. The painful part is that this is a man who owns land, has built things for himself, and has made progress in life. Yet he still blames me for his frustrations. We have two children together. Recently, he made it clear that he is no longer in love with me. He said he only sees me as the mother of his children. According to him, the love died before our second child was born. Since then, he has locked his phone and become even more secretive. I still love him, but I am exhausted. Every day, I feel like I'm fighting for someone who no longer wants me. I'm beginning to believe that loving someone who openly says they don't love you back is a battle you can never win. For the sake of my peace of mind, I'm considering divorce and starting over. Am I making the right decision, or should I keep trying to save my marriage? I will be reading the comments. Thank you.

My Husband Hates My Mother… I Just Found Out From His Chat

I recently gave birth last month, and my mother came to stay with us to help me take care of the baby. While trying to manage postpartum life, I accidentally saw a chat between my husband and his elder sister. In the chat, he was complaining about my mother. He said that ever since she arrived, “the house scent has changed,” and that she has a strong body odour. He also said he feels uncomfortable letting her carry and care for our son. He even mentioned that he can't wait for her to leave. His sister responded by laughing and making a comment about “what does he expect from a village woman,” and he agreed that he prefers to keep his distance from her. Reading that broke me. This is my mother—someone who came to help me after childbirth. Now I feel angry, disrespected, and confused about how to handle this. I don’t know whether to confront my husband immediately or stay calm for the sake of peace in the house. What would you do if you were in my situation? Should I talk to him about it or ignore it for now? I will be reading the comments. Thank you.

My Marriage is falling apart

My husband wants me to pierce my nose and other parts of me body, i won’t lie, he has always told me admire piercing and tattoos but he never dated a girl like that. The reason he never dated girls with piercing and tattoos according to him was because he felt like ladies who are able to tattoo and pierce their ear and other body parts are not well trained or mannered. So he said he wanted to date a responsible lady and then get her to pierce so he wouldn’t have to worry about lady’s character. He doesn’t want me to tattoo because he said it would make me look irresponsible though he loves it but he keep insisting I get multiple piercings I also don’t like the idea. He was saying it before marriage and I was also saying it before marriage that it’s not something I would do. Now we are married there’s always argument because it’s a topic (piercing) he raises almost everyday. He keeps forcing me and making trouble just because I don’t want it. He was keep comparing to his childhood friend who has multiple piercings and how it makes her look attractive. He even shows me pictures of the girl anytime we are in an argument concerning the issue. I always told him that even if I will do that it would be because I want to do it for me. Unfortunately we didn’t really take time to discuss this piercing of a thing before marriage and now I regret it. We’re barely happy in this house because of this desire of his. If care isn’t taken we may end breaking apart. What do you suggest I do please????

Caught My Wife in a Lie… Am I Wrong for Asking Her to Leave?

Four days ago, my wife told me she had a night shift. That night, I stayed home alone with our 9-month-old baby boy. Her mother was around to help, but I still felt lonely, so I decided to surprise her at work. She had mentioned before that she sometimes gets a break between 1 AM and 3 AM, so I thought we could meet briefly, have a drink, and talk in the car. When I got to her workplace, I was told she wasn’t on duty. I asked the staff to double-check, and they confirmed she didn’t work that night. I called her, but she didn’t pick up. So I went home. I was so upset I couldn’t even go to work the next day. She came back around 8 AM and seemed surprised to see me home. She asked why I didn’t go to work, but I didn’t respond. Later, after she bathed, I asked her in front of her mother where she had been coming from. She insisted she was at work. I then asked her to call her workplace in front of both of us to confirm, since I had already been there and was told she wasn’t on duty. She refused. She said if I didn’t trust her, she had nothing to prove. I told them both that if she couldn’t explain, she should leave the house that same day. After some back and forth, she later said she would call her workplace to clear things up. But by then, I was already suspicious that she might try to cover it up, so I told her not to call anymore—just tell me the truth. I gave her 24 hours to be honest. She still didn’t. Even after her mother pleaded with her. So I asked her to leave the house this morning. Now her mother is calling people to intervene, but I feel she is hiding something and I can’t ignore it. I keep thinking I know my wife, and this doesn’t add up. Am I wrong for asking her to leave, or am I doing the right thing? I will be reading the comments. Thank you.

Is It Right for My Mother-in-Law to Wash My Clothes?

Good day, house. Please, I need your opinion on this. My wife gave birth to our first child last month through a C-section. Immediately after the delivery, my mother-in-law came for Omugwo, as our tradition demands. She has been incredibly helpful. She cooks, keeps the house clean, and even washes all the clothes in the house, including mine. The problem is that I'm not comfortable with her washing my clothes. I jokingly told her to skip mine and let me wash them myself or take them to the dry cleaners, but she didn't stop. I also spoke to my wife about it, and she said her mother is doing it willingly and doesn't see anything wrong with it. Still, I don't feel right about it. I even started piling my clothes so I could wash them myself on Saturdays, but whenever I get home, she has already washed everything. I honestly don't know how to make her stop without seeming ungrateful or disrespectful. So, I want to ask: Is it okay for a mother-in-law to wash her son-in-law's clothes during Omugwo? Has anyone ever been in a similar situation, and how did you handle it? I will be reading the comments. Thank you.

My Husband's Side Chick Got Him Arrested and I Had to Bail Him Out

We've been married for three years, and I've always trusted my husband. I gave him his space and never questioned him much. He would hang out with his friends and sometimes come home late, and although I occasionally felt something was off, I chose to trust him. Yesterday, I got a call from him asking me to come bail him out of the police station. I was terrified and rushed there immediately. To my shock, I found out that it was his side chick who had him arrested. From what the police told me, he had gone to her place after work, they got into an argument, and he slapped her. She then locked him inside and called the police. I can't even describe the embarrassment I felt. One of the officers even said, "His wife is prettier than the girl." My husband couldn't even look me in the eyes. The drive home was completely silent, except for him repeatedly saying, "I'm sorry." But I don't even know what he's sorry for. Is he sorry because I had to bail him out of a police station? Or because he was cheating on me? I still haven't spoken to him. To make matters worse, I just went through his phone and found messages of him apologizing to the lady and promising her that he would never hit her again. I've been crying ever since. I'm too ashamed to even tell my mother, so I'm bringing it here. Please, what would you do if you were in my shoes? Would you forgive him, confront him, or walk away from the marriage? I will be reading the comments. Thank you.

My Husband Divorced Me After Just 2 Months of Marriage — I’m Still in Shock

I met my husband last year. We dated for some months, and everything seemed fine between us. Eventually, we got married early this year. But just three weeks into the marriage, everything started changing. He began complaining that he didn’t like me anymore. He even said there were other girls who really wanted him, but he chose to marry me instead. Then he started bringing up his ex, saying he still loved her and that she was the one he truly wanted. From there, things got worse. He began verbally and emotionally abusing me. He would call me lazy, say I can’t cook, that I’m not attractive, and constantly compare me to his ex while insulting me. I tried to sit him down so we could talk about what the real problem was, but his response broke me even more. He said clearly that he doesn’t like me anymore. A few days later, he travelled and sent me back to my father’s house. When he got there, he told my parents things about me that weren’t even true. I was completely heartbroken and confused. Not long after that, he sent his people to come and collect the bride price. Then I heard the most shocking part — he said he is going to marry his ex this August. I was honestly speechless. Why marry me in the first place if everything was going to end like this? Why go through a whole marriage just to treat someone like this? I’m still trying to process everything that happened. What do you think could push someone to do this? And what would you do if you were in my situation?

Is it normal that I feel this way about my marriage?

I love my spouse, but sometimes I feel frustrated, tired, or disconnected. I can’t tell anyone this without feeling judged. I just want to know if anyone else feels the same way in their marriage.

Many people don't understand Marriage

This generation have missed what marriage is all about, they are quick to run in out out of one, they don't understand what marriage is all about. Ask the average young lady, they want to marry, ask them why, they have no idea, or at most they need a man to provide for them and they want to have kids, that's all. So sad.

My Husband Doesn't Like Brushing His Teeth and It's Affecting Our Marriage

Please, I need advice because I don't know how to handle this situation. My husband and I have been married for just three months, and now that we're living together full-time, I've noticed that he doesn't like brushing his teeth at all. Sometimes, two days will pass without him brushing. Whenever I remind him, he always has an excuse. Even when he finally brushes, he doesn't do it properly. Honestly, it's becoming frustrating. He's a well-respected person and treats me very well in every other aspect of our marriage. But when it comes to this issue, we argue a lot. Sometimes we're about to go to church or into town, and when I remind him to brush his teeth, he'll say he's running late and get angry with me. The truth is, I can't even kiss him freely anymore because of this. I don't want this issue to keep causing problems in our marriage, but I also don't know how to address it without starting another argument. Has anyone dealt with something like this before? How can I help my husband improve his oral hygiene without causing more fights? I will be reading the comments. Thank you.

My Newly Wedded Wife Stole From Me Just 24 Hours After Our Wedding — What Should I Do?

I just got married. I was happy and felt like I had achieved a lot already, only for me to wake up this morning to the first marital shock of my life. Barely 24 hours after our wedding, my wife has started stealing and lying. After our wedding, all the cash that friends and well-wishers sprayed on us was counted and handed over to me by my sister. I asked her how much it was, and she said it was ₦930,000. I then gave the money to my wife to keep, and we drove down to our hotel suite. We planned to stay at the hotel throughout the weekend before travelling for our honeymoon. At the hotel, we had some drinks and laughed over some of the funny incidents that happened during the wedding. Eventually, we both fell asleep. This morning, I asked my wife how much money we had from the wedding gifts. She replied, ₦430,000. I asked her if she was sure. She said yes. Honestly, I was shocked. I couldn't believe what I had just heard. I quietly went into the bathroom and called my sister to confirm that I hadn't heard her wrongly yesterday. My sister confirmed again that the amount counted and handed to me was ₦930,000. At that point, I didn't know what to think. My people, what do I call this one? Is this how marriage starts? I didn't even have any immediate plans for the money, but why lie about it? Now I'm confused. Should I let it slide and enjoy our honeymoon, or should I confront her immediately? If I confront her, it might spoil our honeymoon. If I don't, it will definitely spoil my peace of mind. God help me. What Would You Do? If you were in my position, would you confront your spouse immediately or wait until after the honeymoon? Drop your advice in the comments.

Is My Husband Cheating on Me? He Became Distant, Avoids Intimacy, and Constantly Criticizes Me

I noticed a change in my husband's behavior about a year ago, and it's been bothering me ever since. He became distant and emotionally unavailable. Our intimate moments became fewer and farther between, and it started to feel like he was avoiding me. He would criticize me constantly, and even small disagreements would escalate into hurtful arguments. I felt like I was walking on eggshells, never knowing what would trigger his anger. Because of these changes, I started wondering if these were signs my husband is cheating. I suspected infidelity, but I had no proof. The lack of affection and intimacy was taking a toll on my self-esteem. I felt like I was no longer attractive or desirable to him. The constant criticism and verbal attacks made me question myself. I began to wonder if I was the problem or if something else was going on in our marriage. One thing that weighed heavily on me was that I hadn't given him a child yet. The pressure to conceive was mounting, and I started worrying that he might resent me because of it. But deep down, I felt that our marriage problems went beyond not having children. It took a lot of courage, but I finally confronted him about my suspicions and how I was feeling. Instead of reassuring me, he waved it off and dismissed my concerns. The conversation only created more tension between us. At this point, I honestly don't know what to do. Has anyone experienced something similar? If your husband suddenly became distant, stopped showing affection, avoided intimacy, or constantly criticized you, what was the reason? Did it turn out to be cheating, stress, or something else entirely? I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been through this.
