I Don't Love My Husband Anymore
This is probably the hardest thing I've ever admitted. If my Husband ever reads this, it would completely destroy him. The painful part is... He has done absolutely nothing wrong. We've been married for 10 years. We have two beautiful children. My Husband is faithful. Responsible. Supportive. He stood by me through some of the toughest moments of my life. If you asked my friends or family about our marriage, they'd probably say we're one of the happiest couples they know. But they don't see what goes on inside my head. Somewhere along the line... The feelings disappeared. I don't even know when it happened. There wasn't one big fight. No cheating. No abuse. No betrayal. Life just became... Routine. Wake up. Go to work. Take care of the children. Pay bills. Sleep. Repeat. Sometimes we can sit in the same room for an hour without saying anything meaningful. We talk more about groceries than about ourselves. When He says, "I love you," I still reply... But if I'm being completely honest, it feels like I'm saying the words out of habit. Not because I truly feel them anymore. I've tried to bring the spark back. We've gone on dates. Taken short trips. Spent more time together. For a while, things improve. Then everything goes back to the way it was. What scares me the most is the guilt. Because this person genuinely loves me. I can see it. I can feel it. And here I am... Wondering why I don't feel the same anymore. Sometimes I ask myself if this is just what marriage becomes after many years. Maybe nobody stays "in love" forever. Maybe this is normal. Or maybe I'm lying to myself because I'm too afraid to admit the truth. I haven't cheated. I don't want anyone else. I just feel... Empty. I don't want to destroy my family over feelings that might come back. But I also don't want to spend the rest of my life pretending. Has anyone ever fallen out of love with someone who didn't deserve it? Can love come back? Or am I only delaying the inevitable?
Or am I only delaying the inevitable?
