I Thought He Was a Yahoo Boy... Today He's My Husband

Good evening everyone. I just want to share my testimony because even now, it still feels like a dream. Back in 2023, I was in my final year at the polytechnic when a man started messaging me on Facebook. From the very beginning, he told me he liked me and that he wanted to marry me. The problem was that every conversation somehow ended with him talking about his expensive cars, beautiful houses, successful businesses, and comfortable lifestyle. To be honest, I immediately concluded he had to be a Yahoo boy. I couldn't imagine a genuinely successful person introducing himself that way. I blocked him several times, but each time he found another way to reach me with a different account. His persistence was unbelievable. One day, he begged me to meet him just once. I agreed, mostly because I wanted to expose him. I was convinced he had been lying all along. The day we met completely changed my perspective. Everything he had told me was true. He drove the car he had described, took me to his home, and even introduced me to his mother, who was one of the most humble and kind-hearted women I had ever met. Nothing about them matched the picture I had painted in my mind. Even after seeing all of that, I still turned him down. I told him I wasn't comfortable with his flashy lifestyle and that I preferred someone more simple. I thanked him for his honesty and asked him to move on. To my surprise, he became emotional. He told me he had spent years wondering whether anyone would ever love him without first seeing his wealth. According to him, many women chased him because of what he owned, but I was the first woman who rejected him even after discovering he was genuinely wealthy. He said that was exactly why he couldn't stop thinking about me. I still wasn't convinced, so I traveled to my village to clear my head. A few weeks later, he shocked everyone by coming to my village with members of his family to officially meet my parents. He respectfully asked for permission to court me properly. My parents were impressed by his humility, not his money. They encouraged me to give him a genuine chance before making a final decision. I prayed about it, took my time, and eventually agreed. That decision changed my life. We got married last year, and not for a single day have I regretted it. The man I once judged has turned out to be the most humble, patient, loving, and caring husband I could ever have prayed for. He has built a house for my parents, pays the school fees of my younger siblings without complaining, and treats me with so much love and respect that I thank God every day for opening my eyes. Looking back, I realize I almost missed one of God's biggest blessings because I judged someone based on my assumptions instead of his character. My advice to every woman is this: be careful not to judge people too quickly. While you should always be wise and protect yourself, don't allow assumptions alone to make every decision for you. Sometimes God's blessings come in packages we never expected. Please keep my marriage and my family in your prayers. May everyone trusting God for a good spouse receive their own beautiful testimony at the right time. Thank you, and God bless you all.
