Third Person in My Marriage Wears a Jersey

I've been married for six years, and I love my husband. But football has become the third person in our marriage. It started small. A Saturday match here, a Sunday match there. Now it's Champions League on Tuesday, Premier League all weekend, Europa, Carabao, even some random league I can't pronounce. Last month, I caught him watching a replay of a match he'd already watched live. A replay. All I want is one hour with my series. Just one hour. After cooking, cleaning, and working all day, I want to sit and watch my show in peace. But the moment I touch the remote, he looks at me like I've committed a crime. Babe, it's Arsenal tonight. It's always Arsenal tonight! Last week I begged him, "Please, just let me finish this one episode." He promised. Ten minutes in, he started sighing loudly, shifting on the couch, checking his phone for scores. Then he said, Just let me check the score small. Small became the whole second half. I ended up in the bedroom, watching my series on my phone with the screen brightness low and poor Internet connection like a teenager hiding from her parents. In my own house. I don't want him to stop loving football. I just want him to see me too. Is it too much to ask for one night that belongs to me?
