My Past Relationship is now my torment.
About seven months ago, I ended my relationship with my girlfriend after months of constant conflicts. She was controlling, often difficult to reason with, and our calls would frequently end in arguments. Financial issues also became a major source of tension. I tried my best to fulfil the promises I made, but when I delayed, she told me there were other men who could provide for her without complaining. That broke something in me, and I decided to walk away. Before we broke up, we had unprotected sex several times, and she had once told me she wanted me to get her pregnant. The day after one of those encounters, I ended the relationship and moved on with my life. Now, seven months later, she has called me claiming that she is seven months pregnant with my child. She says she knew I would have opposed terminating the pregnancy, so she decided to tell her current boyfriend that the child was his. He is a married man with children and has apparently been taking care of her throughout the pregnancy. Honestly, I don't know what to believe. If the child is mine, why did she wait seven months to tell me, especially knowing how much she once wanted a future with me? At the same time, I can't completely dismiss the possibility because of the timing. I'm now in a committed relationship, and I'm terrified that this situation could destroy everything I've built. But if that child is truly mine, I also can't run away from my responsibility. I'm stuck between doubt, fear and guilt. What would you honestly do in my position?
