I Live With a Man Who Is Still Visiting His Ex
Two years under one roof. A child between us. And I still feel like a guest in my own relationship. It started small. I noticed he'd go quiet whenever I walked in, thumb moving fast, screen tilting away. Then I found out: he searches his ex on every platform. Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, everywhere. He'd unblock her, scroll through her posts for hours, then block her again before I got home. Block. Unblock. Block. Like a man sneaking a drink he swore he'd quit. Before now, they used to chat once I left the house. He'd block her by evening. That part stopped, thank God. But the "small searches" never did. When I ask why, he turns into a different person. Wild. Defensive. Suddenly I'm the problem for "disturbing his peace." And the ex isn't the only one. There are other exes he starts random conversations with, but there's always a favourite. What hurts most isn't even the scrolling. It's the question it plants in my head: *Am I the one he chose, or just the one who was available?* I cook, I stay, I raise our child, and I still feel like a convenience package, not a partner. I'm tired. Tired of checking his face for answers. Tired of wondering if I'm competing with a woman who isn't even in the room. Sisters, ladies, men too: have you ever loved someone who was only half-present? Did you stay, or did you walk?
Did you stay, or did you walk?
