I'm planning to get married next year, and this question has been bothering me for months. How much money should someone realistically have saved before marriage in Nigeria? I'm not talking about the wedding budget alone. I mean after the wedding. Money for rent. Furniture. Emergency expenses. Hospital bills. Unexpected family responsibilities. Maybe even starting a business someday. Some people say if you wait until you have "enough money," you'll never get married. Others say it's irresponsible to marry without financial stability because love alone won't pay bills. Honestly, the different opinions have left me confused. For those who are already married... Looking back now, how much do you think a couple should have saved before taking that step? If you're not married yet, what's your target amount before you'll feel financially ready?
