The Loan That Almost Ruined Me
I took a loan from LAPO to grow my small business, thinking it would be the solution to everything. At the time, business was moving, and I genuinely believed I would be able to repay without much difficulty. But things didn't go as planned. The business slowed down, expenses kept piling up, and the repayment dates continued coming. Every week became another source of anxiety. I was using money meant for other important things just to meet repayments, and before I knew it, I was trapped in a cycle of borrowing and struggling to catch up. The pressure became overwhelming. I couldn't sleep properly, I was constantly worried, and I started feeling like I had made the biggest mistake of my life. The same loan I took to improve my business was gradually becoming a burden that was affecting every part of my life. I don't regret trying to build my business, but I wish I had understood the weight of that loan before taking it. Sometimes, when you see people talking about loans as easy money for business, you don't hear enough about what happens when the business doesn't go according to plan. I'm still trying to recover financially and emotionally from the experience. I just want other small business owners to think carefully before taking a loan. Make sure you understand the repayment terms and have a realistic plan for paying it back, even when business is slow. That loan was supposed to help me grow. Instead, it almost broke me.
