Torn Between Pleasing My Family and Following My Dream
Good evening, Eucarl community. I need your advice. I am a 28-year-old woman from a traditional family where women are expected to settle down, get married, and have children before pursuing their personal ambitions. The problem is, I've always dreamed of building a career in the arts. Recently, I got a job offer in another city that could be a big step toward my dream, but accepting it would mean relocating. My family wants me to stay close to home and focus on getting married instead. Now, I'm torn. If I follow my dream, I fear disappointing my family and possibly damaging my relationship with them. But if I stay and do what they want, I'm afraid I may regret not chasing my passion. Has anyone ever been in a similar situation? Should I choose my own happiness and career goals, or put my family's expectations first? I will be reading the comments. Thank you.
