I Thought NRC Was My Way Out of Poverty. Now I Don't Even Have Transport Money.

I Thought NRC Was My Way Out of Poverty. Now I Don't Even Have Transport Money. Please do not insult me. I am fully aware that I made one of the biggest mistakes of my life. I am sharing this in the hope that someone else may learn from my experience. Life has been difficult for me over the past two years. Business has been slow, expenses keep rising, and each day feels like another struggle to get by in this country. When a friend first introduced me to NRC, I was not interested. However, he continued showing me weekly alerts. People in my church and neighborhood were also talking about it. It seemed like everyone was making money. I told myself, “If so many people are benefiting from this, perhaps this is my opportunity as well.” I started with ₦100,000. At first, everything went smoothly. I even made a small withdrawal, and that gave me more confidence. I sold some goods from my shop and invested more. I used my savings. I even borrowed from my contribution fund because I believed I would repay it before anyone noticed. Each time I considered stopping, I would see someone else posting withdrawal proof. I kept telling myself, “Just one more deposit.” Then, one morning, I logged in and the site would not open. The administrators said we should remain calm because they were upgrading the platform. Later, they blamed hackers. After that, they asked us to wait for verification. Then came silence. The Telegram group was locked. Customer support stopped responding. That was when it finally became clear to me. Everything was gone. More than ₦4 million disappeared just like that. As I write this, I do not even have enough money for fuel. My landlord calls me every day. School fees are due, and my wife keeps asking why I have suddenly become so quiet. She has no idea that I have lost almost everything we worked for. The most painful part is that I encouraged my younger brother and two close friends to join because I genuinely believed it was legitimate. Today, they have also lost money because they trusted me. I can hardly face them anymore. Since this happened, I barely sleep. My appetite is gone. Every time my phone rings, my heart starts racing because I fear it is another person asking for money I do not have. If you are reading this and still believe that every online platform promising quick returns is your breakthrough, please learn from my mistake. Sometimes what appears to be an opportunity is the beginning of a disaster. For anyone who has ever suffered a major financial loss, how did you find the strength to start over? Right now, I honestly do not know where to begin.
