I RAN AWAY FROM MY BOSS YEARS AGO… NOW SHE IS ABOUT TO BECOME MY COUSIN’S WIFE
Hello guys, I am so angry and confused right now. I honestly do not even know if I am wrong for feeling the way I feel. Some years ago, I was working with a financial institution as a marketer. I was already 32, a university graduate, and trying my best to build my life. The MD of the company was only about 26 at the time. She was a relative of the owner and, in fact, she was the one who employed me. From the beginning, I respected her because she was my boss. But the way this woman treated me was something I will never forget. She could talk to me anyhow and constantly made me feel like I was useless. One day, a customer called her to complain about something I supposedly did. The complaint wasn't even true, but before I could explain myself, she started shouting at me and insulting me. The words she used that day really broke me. I went to the restroom and cried. Imagine being a 32-year-old man, a university graduate, sitting in a workplace restroom and crying because of the way your boss spoke to you. But what could I do? I needed the job. So I swallowed my pride and continued working. As time went on, the job started affecting my personal life. There was even a time I couldn't attend my own brother's wedding because of work. That incident caused a serious problem between us, and our relationship was never the same afterward. Then came the day everything finally went too far. We had an argument at work, and this woman actually tried to slap me. I quickly moved away. I was extremely angry because, honestly, I could have reacted. But I told myself, "I am not going to fight my boss at my workplace." That was the day I decided I was done. I resigned, relocated, and tried to move on with my life. I thought I would never see this woman again. I was wrong. Recently, my mother called me and told me that my cousin was coming home with his fiancee. This is a cousin who has lived with our family since we were young. He is currently working with Dangote and had decided to marry. He wanted the family to meet the woman he planned to spend the rest of his life with. I was genuinely happy for him. I went home because I wanted to meet his fiancée. Everyone was waiting. My cousin entered first. Then the woman walked in behind him. Guys... It was HER. I almost couldn't believe my eyes. The same woman who used to insult me at work. The same woman who made me cry in the restroom. The same woman who once tried to slap me. She was standing right there as my cousin's future wife. When she saw me, the expression on her face changed immediately. She was shocked too. She greeted me and even smiled at me as though nothing had ever happened. But inside me, my blood was boiling. I couldn't sit there and pretend everything was fine. So I made an excuse and left. Since that day, I haven't been myself. I keep thinking about whether I should tell my cousin and my father what happened between this woman and me. One part of me says, "Tell him. He deserves to know who he is about to marry." But another part of me says, "That was a workplace issue. You left the job years ago. Why should you interfere with his relationship now?" The truth is, I haven't forgiven her. Maybe if I had forgiven her, this decision would have been easier. But I still remember the insults. I still remember crying in that restroom. I still remember the day she tried to slap me. And now I am expected to sit quietly while she becomes part of my family. I don't know whether I am protecting my cousin or simply allowing my old anger to influence me. So guys, I genuinely need your advice. If you were in my position, would you tell your cousin everything that happened, or would you keep quiet and allow him to make his own decision? And if you were the cousin, would you want your relative to tell you about something like this before you got married?
