My Fiancée Can Eat It But My Children Must Never Touch It

I never imagined that a traditional belief from my family would become a serious issue between me and the woman I want to marry In my clan there are certain foods we are forbidden to eat because our elders believe eating them can bring misfortune later in life A few months ago I caught my fiancée eating one of those foods and I became seriously worried because I grew up hearing stories about the consequences from my parents She believes these are just old traditions and that everyone should be free to eat whatever they like but I strongly believe my children must grow up respecting our family customs because I have a responsibility to protect them Now we are having serious disagreements about our future children and I have made it clear that she can eat whatever she wants but my children must never touch that forbidden food because they will inherit my traditions and beliefs and I want to know if I am wrong for standing my ground
