My Boss Promised Me a Promotion... But There Was One Condition

I've been working in this company for almost 5 years. I hardly miss work. I've covered shifts for people countless times. Even when others complain, I just keep my head down and do my job because I believe hard work eventually pays. Last week, my manager called me into his office. Immediately I entered, he smiled and told me to sit down. He said management had noticed my dedication and they were considering me for a promotion. Honestly, I almost cried. With the way things are in Nigeria now, that promotion would change my life. It would mean a better salary, less financial stress, and finally being able to support my family properly. Then he leaned back in his chair and said... "But there's something I need from you first." I thought maybe he wanted me to take on extra responsibilities. Instead, he said if I wanted the promotion, I had to "make him happy." At first, I pretended not to understand what he meant. Then he smiled and repeated himself. Since that day, I've been avoiding him. He still acts normal whenever we're around other staff, but he keeps reminding me that opportunities like this don't come twice. I haven't told anyone because I'm scared nobody will believe me. If I reject him, I might lose the promotion. If I agree, I'll have to live with that decision for the rest of my life. I'm honestly confused. What would you do if you were in my position? I'm single, so it's not as if I'll be cheating on anyone. But honestly, it just doesn't sit well with me. I've put my sweat into this job for years. Why should I have to compromise myself just to get a promotion I already deserve?
